Sweet as Honey started as a dream of mine, long time ago. During my last year at university, to be precisely, I was undertaking an entrepreneurship subject and I had to put together a business idea. Mine was to open a Sweet Tapas Bar and call it Sweet as Honey.
Underpinning my Sweet Tapas Bar idea was the encouragement I have consistently received from people to follow my one true passion, baking. I have been cooking since I was 8 years old! and I’ve lost count of the times I’ve been told, "This is great! You should do something about this, " or "Can I buy this dessert from you?" or "Can you prepare a cake for my son's birthday?" or "Can you cater for Mariana's baby shower?"
Baking and making desserts relaxes me, inspires me, and makes me feel happy. I often spend hours contemplating flavour combinations, shapes, colours, textures, knowing presentation is everything as “We eat with our eyes.”
Spending days experimenting in the kitchen is a joy, each and every recipe taste-tested by my biggest supporters, my adorable baby boy Luca and my lovely partner, Tony (who has never sent anything back yet).
So, I have decided to live my dream and start doing what I enjoy the most!
